A little bit about Jacques "Jacky" Crean ...
He was born in the French Jura in 1944, and after completing his compulsory education at the age of 15, he began working as an apprentice in his grandfather's company. Eleven years later he had mastered the art of pipe making and became the official owner of the company "Pipes Genod" in 1970.
With the help of his assistants, he produces about 8,000 pipes a year. Among these pipes, about 500 are "unique pieces". While he makes his pipes, he regularly smokes a pipe. A bowlful of "Red Amphora" always helps create the right atmosphere for pipe-making.
His display at the Chicago Show each year is magnificient, offering fine pipes in all price ranges. The unique pieces are exquisite. In 2004 the National Contest pipes were supplied by Genod (see that pipe).
Thank you, Jacky, for supplying our pipes for GKCPC's 2007 contest!
