2014 Pipe Carving Contest

The Greater Kansas City Pipe Club is pleased to announce the 5th Annual American Carvers Pipe Carving Contest. The judging will be held at the Kansas City Pipe Show,  June 20th, 2014. We are going to assemble a seven day set from the entries and raffle it at the end of the show.

The shape chosen for this years contest is the traditional billiard with a straight stem.

The goal of the pipe carving contest is to support and promote American carvers.  We generated a lot of interest among the carvers as well as the pipe buying public.

Chuck Stanion published the results of the contest in the winter issue of Pipes & Tobaccos magazine. This was excellent promotion for American carvers in general, and specifically for those whose pipes were shown (with contact info) in the magazine.  Chuck has graciously agreed to publish the results of the 2014 carving contest.  Space allowing, every pipe entered in the contest will be featured in the photo spread in Pipes and tobaccos magazine.

The judges will be selected from buyers and collectors only. As carvers we have the opportunity to make any pipe we want. But in the end, the buying public decides what they really want.

There is a $20 fee to enter the 2014 carving contest.
